Hello, I’m Polly!

a little about me…

I learnt how to shoot film when I was 18, developing my own rolls in the dark room, producing contact sheets and perfecting the edit. I loved every part of making photographs this way; the process was as much art for me as the resulting images.

After a decade spent working in advertising I left to have my children. I found myself documenting our daily life, the everyday messes and beauty preserved as visual memories I would otherwise have forgotten.

I’ve photographed hundreds of families over the past ten years. Many have become friends who visit me every year so I can capture the people they love most in this world. The connection I build with my clients and the open trust between us is a critical part of the work I produce. My style of shooting is gentle and organic, allowing moments to unfold, and the facets of your family, the pieces that make you unique, to shine through. I’m an unconventional artist, a truth seeker; less ‘smile at the camera’ and more ‘connect with each other’.

I want my images to make you feel something. Not simply to freeze moments in time, but to remind you of the way those moments felt. Children don’t keep, the parent you are today is not the same one you were last week or last year. Let’s slow things down a while and make some magic together.

My work is soft, fluid, emotive & timeless. Photography is not about freezing time, it’s about capturing feelings.

As well as my family sessions I’ve worked with a number of brands and businesses on commercial shoots. My work has been published in various magazines and blogs including Wildling Magazine, 91 Magazine, Let The Kids, Me & Orla, Baby London Magazine, Babyccino, and Gurgle.
