I'm Polly, a newborn photographer based just outside Tunbridge Wells, photographing new families across Kent and East Sussex. My newborn sessions are calm, gentle and completely baby-led, creating timeless, natural images of those extraordinary first weeks with your new baby.
The early days have a way of passing in a blur of feeds, cuddles and very little sleep. Before you know it, your tiny newborn has changed. My aim is to create images that become even more precious as the years go by.
Newborn Photography That Feels Natural
Those first weeks aren't about perfect routines or perfectly sleepy babies.
They're about getting to know one another.
Every newborn session is completely baby-led. We pause whenever your baby needs feeding, changing or comforting, allowing plenty of time for everyone to relax. There is never any rush.
Rather than elaborate props or carefully posed babies, I focus on the quiet moments that already exist between you. Tiny fingers wrapped around yours. The way your baby nestles into your chest. The sleepy stretches, the yawns, the wonder of these first days together.
Alongside these natural moments, I'll also create timeless portraits of your baby and family that you'll treasure for years to come.
In the Comfort of Your Own Home
Most newborn sessions take place in your own home in Tunbridge Wells, or in the surrounding villages across Kent and East Sussex.
Your home doesn't need to be spotless or magazine-perfect. A room with beautiful natural light, a bed, a sofa or a favourite chair is often all we need. Many of the families I photograph in Tunbridge Wells choose an at-home session because it allows those first days with a new baby to unfold naturally, without needing to travel. The familiarity of home also helps everyone feel more relaxed, particularly older siblings.
During the warmer months, if you have a garden or beautiful outdoor space, we can always step outside for a few photographs together. Some of the loveliest images are created in those first quiet moments outdoors with your new baby.
The setting simply provides the backdrop. It's the connection between your family that always takes centre stage.

You Don't Need a "Perfect" Baby
One of the things parents often worry about is whether their baby will sleep, cry or settle during the session.
The honest answer is... babies do all of those things.
They feed.
They need changing.
They sometimes want to be held for most of the morning.
And that's exactly as it should be.
My sessions are designed around your baby, not the other way around. There is never any pressure for your newborn to sleep or behave in a certain way. Some babies sleep beautifully, others stay awake for the whole session—and both make for beautiful photographs.
What to Expect
From the moment you enquire, my aim is to make everything feel simple and relaxed.
Before your session I'll answer any questions you have, help you choose what to wear and talk through how the morning is likely to unfold. The truth is, there's very little you need to do to prepare.
Your only job is to enjoy being with your baby.
We'll work entirely around feeds, cuddles and naps, allowing plenty of time whenever your baby needs settling. If older brothers or sisters are joining us, we'll follow their lead too, making the session feel enjoyable for everyone.
Afterwards you'll receive a carefully curated gallery filled with a balance of natural family moments and timeless portraits, all edited in my signature style.
When Should I Book My Newborn Session?
If you're looking for a newborn photographer in Tunbridge Wells, the best time to book is during pregnancy, ideally after your 20-week scan.
We'll make a note of your due date and keep space in my diary around that time. Once your baby arrives, we'll arrange a date that works for you both, usually within the first two or three weeks.
If your baby has already been born, it's still worth getting in touch. Beautiful newborn photographs can be created beyond those early weeks, and I'll always do my best to fit you in if I have availability.

While those tiny fingers, delicate eyelashes and sleepy yawns are all part of the story, they're only one part.
The photographs that often become the most treasured are the ones that show your new family together.
The way you instinctively hold your baby.
The look exchanged between new parents.
The excitement of an older sibling meeting their baby brother or sister.
These are the photographs that grow in meaning with every passing year.
Many of the families I photograph return as their children grow, allowing me to document each new chapter through family photography sessions. It's a privilege to watch families change over the years and create a collection of photographs that tells the story of childhood as it unfolds.

I offer two newborn session options: Petite and Signature.
Both are photographed with the same care and attention. Because newborn sessions naturally take a little longer, both include additional time to allow for feeds, changes and settling, ensuring the experience remains calm and completely baby-led.
